About our handcrafted Boxspring Beds

At The Boxspring Club, we understand that your bed is the most important piece of furniture you'll ever own. That's why we are committed to providing premium, handcrafted boxspring beds designed for ultimate comfort and support.

So what is a Boxspring?

"Box spring" is literally translated as "a box with springs." At The Boxspring Club, we know that boxspring beds are gaining popularity for their significantly better support compared to traditional slatted frames and spirals. The springs in a boxspring are evenly distributed across the entire width, allowing the mattress to release pressure efficiently.

There are various types of boxsprings, each with different constructions. However, beware of the growing number of “fake” boxsprings on the market today. These often consist of upholstered slatted frames, aluminum-upholstered frames, or wooden-upholstered frames. They might look like a boxspring, but when it comes to comfort, durability, conformity, and quality, they don't compare to the real deal from The Boxspring Club.

A pocket spring mattress is like a bed full of little steel barrels, each wrapped in its own non-woven synthetic sleeping bag. These "pockets" allow each spring to move independently, offering top-notch conformity. Imagine each spring having its own tiny apartment—no spring gets tangled up with its neighbors, and they all have room to stretch out.

At The Boxspring Club each pocket spring is surrounded by a foam border to keep them all in line. The width of this foam border varies by measurements of the bed, but it’s usually around 15 cm. This foam can feel a bit firmer than the pocket springs themselves. If the foam is too soft, you might feel like you're going to roll off the edge of the mattress, which is not exactly the recipe for sweet dreams.

The firmness of the mattress mainly comes down to the number of coils in each spring and the thickness of the wire. Thicker wire means sturdier springs, and combining these different springs creates zones of varying firmness. Softer springs are used in the shoulder and hip areas to offer better support and keep your spine aligned, especially if you're a side sleeper. So, you get the perfect balance of support and comfort, without feeling like you’re about to tumble off the side.
